In 2002 the future of Greenwood looked uncertain; its owner had passed away and his heirs were in search of a partner to help preserve this once magnificent 28-acre estate. Their search led them to the Garden Conservancy, where I helped devise a plan to preserve the property and oversaw its management: we hired a garden manager, formed a management team with Greenwood staff, researched its history and established priorities for restoration and new infrastructure. Greenwood completed a capital campaign and restored the gardens. In 2013 it opened to acclaim from the New York Times and other national publications.
In 2019 I was invited back to design new plantings for five garden areas: the entry and forecourt, main lawn flower garden, Tea House and Summer House.
